Why I support Kelly O'Dwyer - a local business woman's perspective

Yvonne Lockwood has run a small business for 18 years and recently sought my help when gross mismanagement by the current government put her entire operation at risk. She graciously agreed to speak at my campaign launch earlier this month. Here is her speech:
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Ideologically I have been a Labor voter all my life. So why am I here today? Because I am so disillusioned with this present government. I am still amazed at what a positive experience I have had with a politician. So when Kelly O’Dwyer asked me to speak at this opening it was a no-brainer and let me tell you why. Imagine a politician who:
· Is never too important to talk to you
· Understands complex issues
· Not only talks the talk walks the walk
· Is prepared to go that extra country mile
· Thinks outside the square
· Comes up with creative ideas
· Leaves no stone unturned to get justice
· Doesn’t answer a question with a question
· Finally, and most importantly, speaks the truth.
After 18 months of being pushed from pillar to post by a government department that had the potential to send my business bankrupt, I phone Kelly O ‘Dwyer’s office in January this year for help.
The bureaucratic nonsense, indecision, buck passing by customs and the Department of Finance was mind-numbing. The sheer attachment to process for the sake of process has left me astounded. Finally, my business was granted a waiver from the government on 14th June, just six weeks ago. After that I sent Kelly a note saying: “A person needs a place to unfold their truth and extract their humour”, and that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is Kelly O’Dwyer's office. Without exaggeration if it wasn’t for Kelly and her team's tireless follow up campaigning on my behalf, my business would have been sent to the wall.
I fully endorse Kelly O’Dwyer as a fine example of the type of honest, hardworking politicians this country need. She unequivocally has my vote.
