A federal grant has given Prahran Mission’s goodwill shop a facelift that will help raise more funds to support people living with social disadvantage.

Federal Member for Higgins, Kelly O’Dwyer MP, today visited Prahran Mission in Chapel Street to see the impact of a $5,018 federal grant, delivered under Round 2 of the Stronger Communities Programme.

“Prahran Mission is a wonderful local organisation that, through its social enterprises, provides opportunities for those in our community who most need a helping hand,” Ms O’Dwyer said.

“I congratulate Prahran Mission for their continued good work that transforms lives,” she said.

“This federal funding has improved the layout of the store, increasing the amount of useable space and improving the experience for customers.

“The grant has also enabled a streamlining of the delivery and donations process, meaning volunteers will be able to sort and tag donations more effectively.”

The Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme provides funding for local projects that deliver social benefits and help maintain strong and vibrant communities across Australia.
