The Glen Eira Junior Soccer Club will receive Federal Government funding to upgrade its facilities, Federal Member for Higgins, Kelly O’Dwyer MP, has announced.
“I am delighted that the grant of $9,500 will be used for the upgrade of lighting at Lord Reserve in Carnegie and for portable soccer goals. These improvements will mean better training facilities that will accommodate more players on more parts of the ground in a safer environment.
“Local clubs like the Glen Eira Junior Soccer Club make a wonderful contribution to our community by strengthening social connections and encouraging participation in sport and other activities, supported by the hard work of dedicated volunteers,” Ms O’Dwyer said.
The Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for local projects that deliver social benefits and help maintain strong and vibrant communities across Australia.
